If I had the resources I would go as far as possible for a girl. Like if I was a billionaire, then I would spend as much money as I possibly could. You know, why not. If I bought a massive house just for this women, and in the end I didn't get her. I would still have a sick, massive house and throw parties every day and night while I still get my income from my stocks -.- . "Gatsby bought that house so that daisy would be just across the bay." Gatsby knows what's good. Buying a big ass house just so that this girl would realize it, see that there is a massive party going on and by the slightest chance she would crash the party and see gatsby again, find out that its his house and his. And in the end they would get back together and fall in love with him. Bullet proof plan.

ReplyDeletethis is a great job exploring the idea of what you would do in the same situation as gatsby - i like the phrase "bullet proof plan" though we will have to see if indeed it is "bullet proof" - more interesting is to consider what fitzgerald is saying about money and how people use it...
